Looking at the BBC website I cannot find a control description on MapRunner.Co.UK for a sinkhole
Any suggestions as the St Albans Urban Event is on Sunday 25th October??

V 10 or V 20 x 20?
Interesting point - for a large pit, do you give the horizontal or vertical dimensions?

How about "earth bank" or "crag"?

V 10 means pit 10m deep
V 20 x 20 means pit 20m wide by 20m broad, as roadrunner appreciates.
In this case, the horizontal dimensions are what you perceive as you approach the hole, the depth only being relevant if you get too close ...

Re: St Albans Urban
The new "feature" is just off the edge of this year's map, but would have been on if I had extended the map north rather than east.
I'm now waiting for the planner to phone me up to ask for a map extension so he can make some last-minute course changes.
Even without the new attraction there should be plenty of interest. The race is on Sunday 25th October. Full details on the HH website. And urban addicts could easily fit in the Cambridge race the day before, which is less than an hour away.

Simon, the planner is not convinced. We can't guarantee it will still be there in 3 weeks' time, and the risk assessment could be tricky.
Anyway, I like the controls we have, and there are some fine views on the way. See how many different directions you can spot the tower of the Abbey from.
