"Major" Fixtures
Prompted by another thread here, I decided to look at the fixtures listing on the BO web site. Amongst the options under "events" is "Major Fixtures"; I was amazed that this apparently included every registered event of level C and above, plus some of the big international ones. Surely that isn't how most people would define "major"? I would have expected just level A events. (And yes, I know you can filter the list to just show those, but you can do that on the full list as well.)

This surprised me a little bit. It really does need to be edited down to actual major fixtures.

If the UK O League got a higher profile on BOF's website then this could be the list of Major Fixtures. Even this wouldn't be the list of events I would most want to attend as I can be much more excited about some of the urban races coming up in 2016, some new areas such as Liverpool and some old favourites also.

Re: "Major" Fixtures
I think the title of the page should be changed to "ranking events".

I don't understand why a separate list is needed at all - isn't it just the International A B and C events filtered from the main list and formatted slightly differently? And less useful than the main list, because it doesn't include any links?

Re: "Major" Fixtures
I have vague memories of these lists being discussed many years ago. This is what I think happened.
Once upon a time (pre-2007ish) the BOF website fixture list was just an unformatted page of text listing all events of level 3 and above. When the ‘new’ fixtures page was first created people were not happy that they could not easily scan through it in the way that they could with the old list. BOF reacted by creating the Event Diary page, which was a simple, unfilterable list of every event on the database without links. People then complained that the Event Diary page was cluttered up with too many level 4 & level 5 events, so BOF created the Major Fixtures page – a simple unfilterable list of every event of level 3 and above (basically the same as what they started with).
Now that the Event Diary page is easily filterable the Major Fixtures page doesn’t appear to serve any purpose. The main ‘Event Fixtures’ page should be renamed ‘Event Search’ and the ‘Event Diary’ page should be renamed ‘Fixture List’.
