Re: Chester Sprint Weekend
Is the Sunday afternoon race a chasing start? Can't see any info on this on the website.

Some of the links are not working in the event details documents - we are aware of it and on the case. Apologies.

Correct nooomember. Absolutely no headcams - will be a note to this effect in the event details.
I'm sure what you mean is no cameras (whether head-mounted, or otherwise). We wouldn't want the mis-understanding that occurred at a previous urban event to be repeated.

Good point Spookster - you are correct.
Meanwhile - hyperlinks problem in the event details is now fixed (although our webmaster tells me that there may some issues with firefox - you can copy and paste links now though). I hate IT.

Of course! It has to mean anything capable of taking pictures - modern phones as well as cameras and headcams - otherwise it is pointless.

Sorry just got around to reading all the various info about the weekend - think I get the plan now. All we need to take in is our passport and they get handed back at the end?

Re: Chester Sprint Weekend
Well, that was an excellent set of races. Superb sprint in the barracks to round the weekend off!

Re: Chester Sprint Weekend
Wonderful sprint weekend in Chester. The night park orienteering was a very unusual experience. Thank you DEE for a great weekend. It was an awful lot for one club to put on. Well done.

Re: Chester Sprint Weekend
Because there were marshals on the course and competitors wore race numbers.

... and because there was a bridge where you had to be careful not to inadvertently cross into out of bounds by crossing the busy road (which was made easier by the final details explaining it to you), but which apparently some people still didn't understand or didn't read.
Great races at both venues on Sunday - thanks DEE!

Re: Chester Sprint Weekend
Agreed - well worth the trip and looked a lot of work to put on. The Chester city centre race was very interesting and the army barracks was fast and furious. The forest sprint was really challenging - much greener than I was expecting- probably we should have more events like this to practice!
I shadowed my son on the night event as it was his first but I'd have been as well having a run as he managhed it fine and everyone else seemd to be having lots of fun!

Re: Chester Sprint Weekend
I believe it was only 1 was DSQ on the Forest Sprint. I haven't looked up who it was yet, but when they jumped down they saw the officials and then tried to cover up their number with their arm ... but failed.
This is why "best practice" suggests numbers front and back.
I am afraid I haven't had a chance to see/approve them yet as I've been away from my PC, but I'll take a look tonight. I believe we re-instated everyone who had used backup punches when they couldn't see the SI-box - a good habit to get into.
