Re: WOC overall view
It would be a shame to lose the the rest day sprint, not least because it's a useful fundraising opportunity: the 2013 edition made £2500 for SEDS. (there were ~550 competitors, plus some pre-entered no-shows, entry fees were £7/£4)

So we tried to run it along the lines of a Level C urban race (sprint distance - although I got the times a bit over sorry - the hills took more out of you than I expected!)
.......
I guess it may go back to being informal level D race again - I'm not sure. I'd love to see a competitive sprint race as part of the festival in some shape or form though...
I'd agree with RS - this was one of the highlights of our week as competitors - although I would have enjoyed it even more if it had all been in the town/park and had left the wooded hill out! The planning in the town was amongst the best I've enjoyed at a sprint. Would definitely like to see a competitive sprint race as part of S6D - and the retention of at least one middle distance day. As it is, we've decided that we won't enter all days, but pick and choose, if it's a standard 6 day forest event in future. I would certainly drop one of the days to do a decent rest day sprint, even if didn't count for the overall (as we did this year).
On the wider front, it was inevitable that the S6D would have to be compromised with WOC alongside, and I think it would be unreasonable to expect otherwise. We were rather more impressed at how the two events were so well integrated from our point of view (it sounds as if it might have been different to some of those more involved in putting the events on, so well done on maintaining the appearances!) - there was some brilliant spectating and some brilliant orienteering, so a huge thank you to all the volunteers who put on such a remarkable week.

I am sad about the number of times they said the word "event" in that short clip
