WOC 2015 Forest Relay
According to BOF tweet this morning "A disappointed Hollie Orr withdraws from the GBR women's relay team - Jess Tullie takes her place."

What a relay.........denied a medal by a strong french man and a storming Norwegian. .......still an outstanding run by the boys...so near etc..........heart in mouth time for spectators.
Not sure what happened to the lasses as was still in forest for first leg and recovering for most of rest.

Jess filled Hollie's shoes brilliantly
The men certainly did a great job, they could, I think, have had a medal, with the right running order.

If you could run forever ......

I'm really impressed with some of Alba's camerawork yesterday' in the forest.
They tracked close behind runners for 100s of metres and the shots were remarkably steady; assuming not drones the cameramen must be pretty fit and the GoPro (?) image stabilisation is superb.

Suspect you'll find BBC Alba sat at a table while some dodgy East European's took the great footage. Wasn't there, so just guessing

Yes, the TV cameramen and production are part of Karel Jonak's Czech team. He's done the last few WOCs now, and is also doing WOC 2016 in Sweden.
Some of the running camera shots are from cabled cameras (with a long cable!). Others are from a GoPro fitted with a transmitter aerial.

Day 5 was in there today. It's superb, certainly some of the best terrain in the UK.

Day 4, the rest day between 2 and 3 has got you all confused!

Re: WOC 2015 Forest Relay
Is this really all the comment that WOC relays got? I guess, like me, most had no time to go online.
Graeme produced the most inovative relay gaffling ever, a stroke of genius. The arhletes loved it, they were in a race then suddenly and totally unpredictably they were separating, then back in a race, then alone, then racing again, then alone, and finally when they thought they were racing for the finish the men unexpectedly separated again. As far as i could tell Sweden Finland and Russia all lost out early by followi g the wrong pack.
When live it seemed unfair that Scotia was running a lonely gaffle from the first control. Hardly the planner's fault that 2 of those nations should have been running with him!
And as an aside, Graeme had to put out 35 6 day controls with no tags allowed in the gathering night immediately afterwards, and then get up very early to check other controls put out in similar circumstances in some of the heaviest rain ever seen in Moray.

You are not alone in being seriously impressed with the amount of work Graeme managed to get through - with the possible exception of his employer who must be wondering where he has got to
