Any idea when start times might be published please?

Re: S6D start times
I'm not directly involved on that side, but I believe the entries team aim to have start times done by 20 July. I received a similar enquiry via Facebook prompting me to ask the same question a week ago. I don't think the process has been helped by the team receiving a stack of entry requests/start time block requests etc after the closing date.

Thank you. Feel every sympathy for entry people - it's not as though there wasn't a very long window for entries with opportunity for requests before closing date.

Re: S6D start times
I had a role to play in producing the competitor bibs for the last Croeso event which had intended to have competitor start times on them. Fabian4 bust a gut to get the times to me but I was amazed about how late some people left making changes even though they reached the cut off time and were being charged for the changes to be made. It did make the whole process for me very stressful though and I did learn to be a bit tougher with timescales for anything I was involved with subsequently.

Re: S6D start times
Part of the problem is that it's all very well being encouraged to enter early, but that means entering before you know a lot of the necessary information. (The worst aspect of this is those events that tell you almost nothing in advance about course lengths, distance of start from car park, etc., but it's also about changes in the competitors' circumstances.) And then it's easy to delay or forget to update/correct things. I think it'd be good if online entry services send competitors an entry transcript when they enter and then send it again when final(ish) details are available, and then again a couple of days before the organisers need accurate competitor info.
I'm helping on the Sunday at the sprint final, but I can't remember if the S6D team knows this...

Adrian, if you are on the team for the WOC Relay Final, you should be getting emails from the WOC Volunteer Coordinators. The last part of the email should tell you what your volunteer profile is (emergency tel no, contact etc) and one bit asks if you're entered for the S6D on a day that you're helping (Y or N). If that says Yes, then the S6D team should already know about you.

Re: S6D start times
Start times were uploaded onto Sientries earlier this evening and will be opened to the world to see tomorrow. Start times for the Sprint races will follow on Wednesday.
There have been 40 late entries to deal with between 1st July 2015 and 17th July 2015 which have all been given start times.
There were 50 cancellations prior to 30th June 2015 with another 30 during July 2015 most of which have had refunds or part refunds with a few more to follow soon.
450 Hired SIcards to input.
There have been 20 requests for changes over the last three days which still have to be sorted out.
and finally about 35,000 start times to allocate.
Oh yes I nearly forgot we have been working on this for 6 or 7 hours a day over the last three weeks as well as going to work!

Re: S6D start times
Surely there has to be a better way than to spend 200+ (?) hours of volunteer time allocating start times?
I thought that start times were allocated automatically based on a number of pre programmed inputs (clubs, balancing, split starts) - so little need for manual intervention. And then if people want to change their times, after they're published, they can pay a fee for that so in effect it becomes a commercial transaction with the provider like Fabian, rather than a volunteer effort.
Obviously this is not the real world?

They are. It's getting all the extra requests and what not dealt with that takes the time.

As one of those who has taken up the time of the entries team (v. legitimate reason honest) I have to say a massive thanks to Simon for his help. Genuinely first class and highly professional. Massive credit to you.

Is there any flexibility for helpers? On the day the club is supposed to be helping the organising club with car parking we all have early starts!
