We're on the BBC news website ... Scotland > Highlands and Islands.
OK so it's about road closures, but they're saying that lots of people are coming and it's worth loads of dosh to the local economy. Triffic!

Thanks ... posting links is not my forte.
Just spotted this in The Times on 15th July: the Daily Quiz on the back page of Times2, question 14: France's Thierry Gueorgiou is a 12-time world champion in which outdoor adventure sport?

Don't anyone believe Highland Council's figures. According to the Economic Impact Assessment commissioned with Event Scotland funding, Moray 2013 generated £3.3 million for the Scottish economy. Highland 2015 entries are 50% up on 2 years ago - that's without 400-odd WOC teams and officials.

It might be worth telling the BBC that.

Viewers in Scotland will be able to catch Ali McLeod on BBC2's Adventure Show tonight at 7. SEDS starting to get a regular slot the ways things are going. Presumably it will be available on the Iplayer later.

And there is an interview with Alasdair McLeod on last Sunday's Adventure Show. (BBC Scotland only) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b063hvm5 at 37 and a bit minutes if you don't want to watch the downhill mountain biking.

Is this the BBC page which says "Sorry, this episode is not currently available" or am I looking in the wrong place? Or living in the wrong place?

It says "BBC Two Scotland only" so my understanding is that you wouldn't have been able to watch it live, but you could watch it later. Maybe they only keep it up for a short while.
I often watch Shinty on BBC Alba but for the Scotttish Cup (Camanachd Cup) Final they put it on BBC Scotland then I can't watch it live but have to wait until it is available on iplayer.

It was available on iPlayer on Monday (from England), but evidently not available now.

According to the Adventure Show Facebook page:
In case you've not seen my reply in a thread... not sure why the programme has apparently disappeared from iPlayer. I'll be in touch with BBC Scotland this morning and report back!

I suspect bigger fish will be frying by later today.

Thanks Paul.
It's a great interview, though disappointing that it desn't actually show any orienteering - just a training run. I guess regular viewers of the Adventure Show know what orienteering looks like.

I've yet to see a piece on tv that really shows what orienteering is about. What we need is a top runner in technical terrain, tracked and with a head cam, running at speed and giving a running commentary on their navigation choices, with a split screen showing their tracking. That might start to show the mix of skills required to be a successful orienteer.
