With JWOC about begin I've been searching for info about the GBR team without much success. I've found other national teams blogging on Facebook and can sense their excitement at the terrain and imminent competition, and the JWOC website is posting interesting biographies, but otherwise very little. Since upgrading my OS to Yosemite I can't get the search function on the British Orienteering website to throw up even the team names.(not sure it was the upgrade or whether the function is not working at all?)
I had a great time last week following EYOC via the competition's own Facebook page and some other countries' blogs and would like to do the same for JWOC, so can anyone point me towards the GBR team profile, any FB pages or other blogs?

The search and news functions are horrific on the BO website. You can find the team if you go to the news archive and scroll back to the post on the 9th of April: http://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/page/news_archive
A lot of them have Attackpoint profiles and twitter accounts and have been getting excited They are however all personal accounts so I'll leave you to find them yourself. No central blog or anything as far as I have seen.

Re: JWOC
thanks Frostbite and Andy, I knew the team had been listed somewhere!
I think I saw a post from Mharky at some point, saying that some of them were also out there doing some early training.
I'll have a bit of a search for personal updates, as you suggest.
It wasn't just EYOC that ran a good Facebook reporting page and website, the MTBO races in Portugal were well covered too and Emily Benham's blogs are always a great read . I was also following events at the Trail-O champs with interest and joining up the dots in my lack of understanding of the technicalities via JK's updates on here. A few UK O clubs on FB were updating on their individual members' news from the various champs too, which added a lot more interest.

Re: JWOC
Just to update you... The team have arrived in Rauland and are now out on a gentle leg loosener before tomorrow, when the first of the model events are scheduled. Spirit in the camp is good, after flying in late last night and resting up in Drammen before the 3.5hr journey across to Vierli Turistsenter. Magnificent views from the lodges, across the snow topped peaks, and the forests are looking beautiful
It is our aim to update throughout the event, on here and BO website, wi-fi being generous

Re: JWOC
Aidan 4th at the finish, but plenty more still to come. But that should beat his previous best of 28th at JWOC, perhaps by some way.

Re: JWOC
Some cracking runs today in the Sprint. Aidan finished in 7th, only 2 seconds off the podium and 11 off a medal, and this bodes well for the forest campaign. Megan, in her first JWOC ending as top British female in 17th. All of the girls finished in the top 50 (Fiona - 34th; Hannah - 44th and Sarah - 49th - very solid, considering all debutants at this level). Men's results were also commendable, with Dane in 23rd, Matt in 66th and only Chris in 92nd being disappointed with the outcome, after struggling with a virus since his arrival in Norway.
