If anyone is planning to get the train from Edinburgh on Friday please take great care in your schedule, there's some major engineering work in West Lothian, even if the Stirling line is re-routed it will be very busy especially at peak times:

I'm sure there are enough driving from Edinburgh to help with lifts if required, I'm driving from near Edinburgh Park and could take a few...

And it's the Royal Highland Show on Friday to Sunday which means the airport and surrounding roads will be gridlocked too.

Re: Bannockburn WRE Sprint on Friday
Just wondering if these train problems are also an issue from Glasgow? Or alternatively if anyone is travelling from the Glasgow area?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Bannockburn WRE Sprint on Friday
I got the train from Stirling to Edinburgh yesterday and it was fine - just took a bit longer than usual, because it's rerouted to avoid the Winchburgh Tunnel, which is closed for electrification of the line. Glasgow trains to/from Stirling are not affected as far as I know. Glasgow to/from Edinburgh via Falkirk High involves replacement buses.
Here's a link to a ScotRail leaflet that gives some explanation and the train times: https://www.scotrail.co.uk/sites/default/files/assets/download_ct/winchburgh_glasgow-edinburgh_via_fg_final.pdf

Great "extended" sprint race this evening in Bannockburn! Commentary, a blow up finish and all. Well fun.
Orienteering - its no walk in the park
