The World TrailO Champs is usually co-located with WOC, but this year they'll be held in Croatia in just over a month's time (23rd June: Opening Ceremony)
You can see the event programme here
http://www.wtoc2015.org/event-programme
As you'll see from the entries, the British Team is
In the PreO ["classic TrailO"], the GBR team is
Open: Clive Allen, Ian Ditchfield and John Kewley
Paralympic: Peter Roberts
And in the TempO ["speed TrailO"], we have
Clive Allen, Ian Ditchfield, Tom Dobra and John Kewley
Other BOF members competing are
Anne Straube GER and Alan Gartside IRL
Further perusal of the entries list reveals Sigurd Dæhli making his WTOC debut for NOR (winner of Individual WOC Bronze and Relay Golds in both WOC and WSOC).

I haven't spoken to him, but I believe he had family or other commitments. He'll be missed not just by the GBR team, but by many of his friends from other countries.
So neither of last year's PreO Bronze medallists are there, Geir failing to make the Norge team for PreO.

Re: WTOC - the "other" 2015 World Champs
Only some provisional results have been seen so far, but we believe that a score of 24 out of 25 is leading the first day of the PreO.
Ian Ditchfield was top Brit with 23, JK on 22 and Clive Allen on 21.
This probably has Ian in top 20, JK top 30 and Clive around 40th.
I'll update when the proper results are out.
Tomorrow is the TempO Qualification.
Top 36 qualify.

Re: WTOC - the "other" 2015 World Champs
Above gb scores appear correct although an issue with the SI timing (or at least its application) currently has Ian docked 2 points. There are a few others in this boat too.
Results for the TempO Qualification are as follows:
33. John Kewley 332 (Q)
47. Ian Ditchfield 395
53. Tom Dobra 432.5
58= Clive Allen 463
Qualifying time was 340.5

Re: WTOC - the "other" 2015 World Champs
Congrats to JK for qualifying for the TempO Final - which is this morning.
TempO is a young person's game, speed of reaction and eye focus being crucial at the top level, as well as being a world class map-reader. I'll be surprised if there is anyone over 30 on the podium. But maybe JK can roll back the years ....

Re: WTOC - the "other" 2015 World Champs
JK finished 27th, gaining 6 places in the final round. In a young person's game, we reckon he may have been the oldest competitor.
The winner was Antti Rusanen of Finland, with an astonishing 34/35 controls correct. There is a full report on the IOFwebsite http://orienteering.org/gold-to-finland-in-tempo/.
Tomorrow sees the second round of the PreO & also the team competition,on another part of the golf course. Results and maps on the WTOC 2015 website http://www.wtoc2015.org/maps-solutions-results/

I believe there were 2 other V50s in the final (both unfortunately ahead of me).

Re: WTOC - the "other" 2015 World Champs
Was the public course the same as the World Champs course? If so that is an impressive result from Tom Dobra.

Re: WTOC - the "other" 2015 World Champs
Once Tom's result was corrected he won the public competition and would have placed 4th in the Open class in the championship according to the event director.
