My recent copy of the newsletter from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society has an intriguing mention of "a world where development in software (so-called Structure-from-Motion or soft-bench photogrammetry) is now allowing routine extraction of 3D data from aerial images that have otherwise been used as 2D wallpaper".
Great possibilities but how "routine" is routine? Any orienteering mappers experimenting with this idea?

I have met Kieran who did this project, and it sounded like the technique is well established. I can put you in touch with him if you want to find out more.
