Trestles for Sprint Races
We are looking to ship 50 trestles over from Italy to the UK for use at WOC. Beyond WOC we don't really need all this equipment, and wonder if any club or association is interested in taking ownership (and making a contribution towards costs). The trestles themselves will cost us only 10 Euro each, but we need to get them here.

Helium O Kites... nice touch. Almost as fun as the tartan ones for this year's Scottish 6 Days

More likely an opportunity for using tartan sandbags. May look a bit too like bagpipes though.

Nice idea but Madmike booked his WOC flights back in 2014 and is also going camping for 2 weeks after WOC.

Italy is a very nice country but you could always ask MDOC how many trestles they have, collection from Manchester might be cheaper, if less attractive as a destination.
We got some for our first Stockport race and have used them occasionally since. Pain in the backside to cart around unless legless (trestles not the driver)

Re: Trestles for Sprint Races
It seems to me that there's not a lot of joined up thinking here. Surely we have been using trestles at events for years? If not available, why not try to commission some one to make them - unemployed, Prince's Trust etc?

Re: Trestles for Sprint Races
If anyone can supply us with 45 identical "WOC-standard" trestles please let us know. They need to be approved by the Senior Event Advisor. We had 25 made up for Euromeeting at considerable expense and quite short notice but the Italian job seemed like a bargain (and could still be if shipping costs are low)

Re: Trestles for Sprint Races
SEOA had some made (by Mike Murray?) for JK2008 at University of Surrey. No idea what happened to them afterwards, but I think DJM was the planner.
They were wooden so possibly bulky to transport, but as I recall they were fairly stable.

Yes, I planned the JK2008 Sprint and Mike Murray made some sturdy supports (wouldn't call them trestles however) for the stakes which held the SI boxes. Don't know where they are now however.
