The final details for the first UK Urban race of the season at Crewe on Sunday 25 January are now up on the Dee website at http://www.deeside-orienteering-club.or ... etails.pdf
Assembly and registration are at the Cumberland Sports Ground which is 1.5k walk from Crewe station.
Theis is the first thime that Crewe has been used for an event. The map has been drawn by Mike Hampton based on initial surveys by Olly Williams (planner) and Mike.
Entries (via Fabian4 please) close on Sunday, 18 January. There is limited EOD subject to map availability.

I never could work out in my head quite what the bottom left quadrant of map extract would look like on the ground. As it turned out, the competition map showed the multi-level car park quite differently.

Great event and courses were good, the amount of short legs kept me on my toes.
I have to say the map looked cluttered with the amount of thick black lines though, and looking at it now especially on alleyways where both ends were gated off anyway, so just a black line there would have done.

Re the multi- level car park mentioned by Spookster..... Originally the lower level was mapped but the recent closure of another nearby car park increased traffic flow to this one so we were asked not to put controls on the lower level and avoid lots of people running through it. Hence the switch to the upper level.
