Some clubs, regions and BOF have limits on how long one person can serve on their committee in a particular post. Eg maximum 3 consecutive years as a chairman or treasurer.
What are people's experiences of this? Do you think this makes for happier clubs , avoids burnout and gets new blood and new ideas into the decision making parts of clubs? Or does it just create different (bigger?) problems? How far do some clubs go with this, ie do they apply such rules to all the positions?
If your club or region doesn't have such a rule, do you think it would be a good idea to introduce it?

Re: Time limits for club or region committee members
Depends on the situation and the individuals involved. Some people can do a job for 10+ years and still have enthusiasm, others get bored/stale after 10 months....

Most small clubs do not have enough committee members to allow this to happen, and are happy for those that will fill a role to do so.

Re: Time limits for club or region committee members
This has been raised at Welsh OA meetings but has not been fully discussed. My thought is the main reason for raising this at our meeting has been that it is the same people doing the committee jobs in rotation with no one else new coming forward and if there was a time limit then members would be more greatly encouraged to come forward or face the committee/club/Association folding when committee members time is up.
I wonder if clubs are struggling to fill committee posts should they amalgamate and have bigger clubs covering larger areas but then twice the number of potential committee members?
