Thankyou BAOC for an enjoyable event.
Some interesting route choices with all the options significantly longer than the straight line route, and not necessarily obvious at first glance.
Bonus points for whoever organised the lovely sunny weather. Hard to believe its November

Re: Winchester Urban - 1 Nov 14
In last week's Winchester Race, due to injury, I dropped down to Course 5 (W55+)
ran round and downloaded - my printout showed finishing time of 61.55 and all controls correct. When the results went up I was shown as DNF. I emailed them and they replied that my result may have been overwritte. I sent a copy of my printout and was told
' one of the download team may have passed the etag quickly over the reader again and it only did a partial read ' (Why did they need to?)
but the result would be corrected - it hasn't been.
Understand that next year's British Sprint Championship is using the same EMIT touch free system - It doesn't inspire me with confidence
If I hadn't kept my printout I could have proved nothing!

http://forum.nopesport.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13464 describes some other potential problems: running past the start mid-course will reset the tag, running past the finish or loitering there might cause problems (though manual processing could remove them), and passing an extra control (e.g. demo control) after finishing might also confuse things. Of course, the software might have been improved since then to get around some of these.
