Great list Roger, hoping I might be able to make an appearance at one of these.
Re. British Champs - you mean a British Urban Championships?? That's a fab idea.

Re: UK Urban League 2015
Nine of the clubs staging UKUL races in 2015 have now donated to a prize fund (and the rest haven't yet said 'no'!), so there should be ' a little something' in addition to a brick for this year's winners.
If we get a full set of donations they we may also be able to reward the top competitors in those age-classes (M/W 50, 60 and 70+) who struggle against their younger and faster rivals. This presupposes that there are sufficient participants with full sets of scores to make a decent competition.
The races start in less than a week. Controlling duties will keep me in Berkshire, but I hope that those of you making tracks for Crewe will enjoy Olly Williams' courses. Do let the rest of us know what we missed!

Re: UK Urban League 2015
Having been almost caught out by this at Crewe, can anyone advise from SMOC if the MK urban event in June will have a course for M12-? Thinking about a trip down over that weekend with jnrpat but depends on there being a course for him to run.

Hi andypat - yes - the Milton Keynes Urban will definitely include MW12-.
Halfway along the road we have to go,
I found myself obscured in a great forest,
Bewildered, and I knew I had lost the way

UK Urban League 2015
Before rushing off somewhere nice for your long holiday weekend, don't forget that pre-entries close on Sunday night for Berkshire Orienteers BML National Urban League event at Great Hollands in Bracknell on Saturday 30th May. This is also an event in the Southern England League. The complex estates of SW Bracknell will require intense concentration and will certainly catch out the unwary! There are numerous blocks of housing with small grassy courtyards, complex alleyways, many canopies and linked pathways, garage blocks and cul-de-sacs. Much of the area has blocks which appear to repeat in shape but have subtle differences making concentration vital. Easy access from the M4 and M3 or 20-25 minutes' walk from Bracknell station (with good service from Reading and Waterloo). For more details of the event, see the event page at: http://www.bko.org.uk/event/great-hollands-30-may-15

Nice.
Quiz question: if I were standing in the NW corner of the map looking SE, what would I see?

Thanks Graeme. Interesting how your view has changed over the years (at least it appears to have). Several years ago (2009) I asked a question here about how to mark the edge of OOB areas and you kindly replied with the following:
"(a) how important is the indication of the nature of the boundary when the area is out of bounds: Not at all (unless it's a river or something weird). Fence/wall/hedge - nobody cares (unless you plan to hang a control on it). You probably shouldn't use a big fierce symbol like "Uncrossable wall" if its only six inches high on the ground, even is technically it is uncrossable. Use the time you save improving legibility."
Perhaps I should add that I am not the mapper for this event.

...which implies to me the corollary that if there isn't a big fierce symbol, the boundary is only notional. Hence the mismatch between Graeme's expectation and reality. (True, this does contradict the statement about the nature of the boundary being unimportant, but I took that to mean that it didn't matter whether the big fierce feature was a wall, hedge or fence, as long as it was big and fierce.)
I must admit that my 2009 Didcot Ladygrove map has quite a lot of un-edged olive green. It looks strange to me now.
