Has anyone used OCAD Starter?
At 180 CHF it is still expensive, but considerably cheaper than OCAD Standard at 580 CHF.
Any idea how that version works with the Lidar data we can now get for free?
I'd be needing it for changes to maps for TrailO so would have trouble enough justifying the 180 expense to myself, but Standard is well out of my range.
Cheers

Re: OCAD Starter
OCAD Starter functionality is on http://ocad.com/en/products/ocad-for-orienteering
The Lidar funtionality is in the DEM Module so appears not to be available in
Starter. You could, however, contact a friendly Standard or Pro OCAD11 user/owner
and ask them to create the necessary OCAD files from the LIDAR data for use in
background when creating a new map.
As an indication, I have an A3 Urban map (1:4000) that uses 6,000 objects and an
A3 forest map that also uses only 6,100 objects. The "limit" of 10,000 objects in starter
is not really a limit if you are a starter. The background jpeg limit of 5 files may
present a "problem" but that is easily surmounted.
