YBT 2014 Final

SO host the Yvette Baker Trophy Final this Sunday at Capite Woods in Sussex.

Ten clubs are taking part: BOK (3rd), DEVON (2nd), LEI (5th), OD (1st), PFO, QO, SN, SO, SOS, WCH. 4 of the top 5 teams from last year are taking part and SN, SO and SOS have large teams that will also be competing for the top five places.

Other attractions include the adults event earlier in the day, karaoke and country fair stocks (watch out team managers!).

Good luck to the 230 plus juniors.

Thanks SO for putting on the event so well for juniors, a lot of details that gave the event a good atmosphere - last few teaser controls in full view of the spectators, most of the runners being announced on the commentary, compact layout .

The certificate for all finishers was greatly appreciated by my daughter who rarely orienteers. She asked me if she can go again next year and when the next O events are on and we even got home in time for the Le Cote de Jenkins Road finale!

That's strange. BOK members have posted on our Facebook group saying we won and pictures of the team with the trophy.

I was watching Le Tour so merely passing on what I've seen on BOK's Facebook and Twitter...

Both teams were tied after 9 counters so it went to the 10th counter, BOK thought Devon had won so were really surprised to be announced as winners. Scoring was wrong though and discovered later. Rather disappointing end to a great competition.

South west (or south) were bound to win as for some reason Le Tour de Yorkshire was taking place and it conflicted.

hmm! I think the south west would have triumphed wherever. Last year 2nd and 3rd and that wasn't in the south. Just look at BOK's junior relay results at JK: two 1st, one 2nd and one 3rd but first British team.
