British Sprints and Middle
I assume the high entry fees, £17/£18, are another case of BO wanting huge profits. I,for one, would prefer a higher membership fee instead of the joke amount we pay at the moment. The active orienteers are just not being listened to.

17/18 is fine for an entry fee to a top quality race in my eyes, perhaps a little high but certainly not a joke as you put it.
£30 is when you start getting into joke-fee land

Tend to agree with Andy. BO not perfect but I'd rather pay this sort of money for the national champs and get a quality all around event than the sort of makeshift event that probably would happen if it was a tenner.

Has moaning on Nopesport about high championship entry fees now become a Pavlovian response?

At least one can choose pick and choose events without having to pay a lot up front for the option. The concern could be that for those events where the area isn't that attractive, entry numbers will tumble. £17/£18 isn't particularly out of kilter. As andy says, the £30 fees will I'm sure start to put people off unless it's absolutely top notch, and known to be so.
I'm also more concerned at the fact that the cost of food at such events has gone into the reaches of non-consideration because of BO charges - it was once an enhancement, but not now.

Re: British Sprints and Middle
A difference between the JK sprint and the British Sprint Champs usually is that at the British there will be a prologue followed by finals. So the cost might reflect that two events are being held on the day if you count each part as a separate event.

Unfortunately Mrs KP's induction into a new position has been confirmed for that Saturday, so I am going to have to miss the Sprints. Negotiation continues regarding the Middle on the Sunday ....

Well, tatty seems to be arguing for higher membership fees, and everyone else is defending the £17/£18. Maybe the Pavlovian response is to assume everyone is moaning?

Re: British Sprints and Middle
Middle entry fee increases to £20 after 20/7
(Slightly confused about the Championship entry fee for "unattached" athletes when the championships are only open to BOF members and members of overseas IOF affiliated Federations)
Would expect Sprint entry fees to have a similar increase but Sprint champs entries page is not enormously informative, no doubt BOF staff have been too busy uploading all the jobbie about merchandise to do this (or fix the JK results/rankings

I thought it was the organisers that did that hence 1 club has and 1 club hasn't.

Re: British Sprints and Middle
I've just made some entry changes via Fabian for the Sprints 2014, but also need to make changes to a section which needs to be done via the Organiser.
Neither Fabian nor the BOF Sprints/Middles websites have contact details or email address, which doesn't help.
Anyone from the organising club care to update the website or reply with such info for contact details for an entries secretary??

That's to contact Fabian, not the organisers of the event.
As mentioned, I've already made some changes to the entries via Fabian, but some details cannot be changed online and Fabian states you need to email the event officials.
