i got my reebok fitball from argos, only £9.99, and you get an adapter so you can attach a pump to it (bike pump or lilo pump). It's a cool silver colour as well
Another good exercise is when you lie on your back with your kness bent. then lift your bum off the ground until your shoulders to knees is in a straight line (diagonally upwards - only shoulders/head and feet should be on the ground). try crossing your arms over your chest as that stops you using them to stabalise you and makes you use your core instead.
Then, lift one leg off the ground so thats in a straight line with the rest of your body. The important thing is to keep your hips pushed upwards and to keep them level. The tendancy is to let one side drop down when you lift a leg up, make sure you don't! Hold the leg there for 10 secs then swap and do the otherside. Repeat as many times as you like!

Another exercise i have done in the gym apart from the plank is to lie on one side then raise your body up by resting on your forearm then lift your other arm straight up in the air. your body should be completely off the ground apart from forearm andside of one foot.
almost a plank on your side.
another good exercise for thigh and stomach is to lean your back and head against a wall a take on a sitting postion with legs at 90deg to the wall.this should hurt like hell and if you can hold if for longer than 2:30 i will praise you.
