Not caught up with cameras in some parts of Cambridge. You might get away with a camera obscura?

Re: Cambridge City Race
After the first Cambridge City Race, I wondered whether there should be prize for the person who had their photo taken most by Japanese tourists. I realised there was going to be a problem in getting the evidence to award the prize however.

Re: Cambridge City Race
Enjoyed the race round Cambridge today, good to get into some of the college grounds, and a few good route choice challenges on course 2.
Pity about the security alert that caused the police to close a major street in the centre, which well have affected several legs on several courses. Will be interesting to see what the results end up being, if a significant number of people were affected.

Did a member of the public dial 999 when they saw a lot of people running round with what were obviously timing devices?

Re: Cambridge City Race
It wasn't my day today, by the time I reached the above area the police has blocked the High Street as well so I had to turn around and go round via Downing Street.
Earlier I also reached Clare during the only point in the day (or so it seems) that the main gate was locked. I waited for a couple of minutes before giving up and jogging all the way round the back.

Enjoyed the race today.
Pity about the bomb scare, saw a few confused orienteers working out where to go when faced with crowds and closed roads.
I used Petty Cury when I ran earlier (the street where the suspicious rucksack was found) on leg 11-12 on course 1, also on course 1 some people may have chosen to use Sidney Street for 25-26.
As Spookster wrote it will be interesting to see how the results may have been affected.

Re: Cambridge City Race
Oh it was a bomb scare, wondered what was going on. I was affected the second time I tried to go down there but not the first (half 12 start on Course 2) - so guess it would only be the later starters on that course that were affected. Irritating but these sort of things are always going to happen with Urban-O. I would think it cost me a good few minutes, as route I had to take was pretty much 3 times the distance and fighting through high st full of people. As to what to do I'd be happiest if they voided that leg (and the earlier one if anyone was affected).
Great race though, thanks CUOC. (and shame about my phone being stolen in Pizza Express afterwards).
Edit: Having check results I think it only cost me 90 seconds and no places so I'm not really bothered, but guess others might be.

Re: Cambridge City Race
When you've decided how to deal with the road closures, could you upload the results to the NUL site please? The end of the series is only two weeks away and the ESOC organisers will need to see who's in contention for the league win so that they can prepare for the prize-giving.
The instructions for organisers should tell you all you need to know except the upload password (from me or Jayne).
