I believe selections are expected by the 9th, but don't quote me on that.

Great stuff, Good luck to all.
Shame there isn't a female relay team for JEC. I can only presume that Charlotte is earmarked for Italy camp ending the week before and so unavailable.
We don't get the opportunity to partake in many "international" relays.....

Re: EYOC 2013
Is it me but wtf are these selections, time and time again we send incomplete junior teams, if BO are serious about MP3 how do they expect the british world champions of the future, the current M/W 16 and 18 to get international experience when few of them get any international individual and relay experience, our relay results this year at woc were nothing to write home about. It's not as if BO are paying to send the juniors all have to pay their way (and probably subsidise the mgt team!). If feel sorry for the juniors (and parents) that are expected to travel the length of breadth of the country for selection races and still they do not get selected, there is plenty of talent out there.
Well done and Good luck to those who have been selected.
Is it time for a vote of no confidence in the performance mgr, is there such a thing?

National Talent Manager is Sarah Hague so I doubt there's any lack of knowledge about the experience juniors require to make the jump into the world of big boys & girls orienteering.... not sure about the rest of BOF though

Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)

Re: EYOC 2013
Everyone is aware of the funding issues and the constraints that emposes but the process is not providing aspiration for juniors when they see this, infact just the opposite.
And are far as I know interestingly Sarah did not attend the Talent Deveopment camp at Cairngorm and whilst I can appreciate other commitments and delegation what does that say to juniors ?

Re: EYOC 2013
But the point is more that the process should help aspiration, engagement and achievement and with the very limited few places now available the process is becoming self defeating and will take people away not engage more people within it to do better . It' s almost a case now that if you are not at the very top from the very beginning then dont bother , that's the message being conveyed, not a positive or encouraging one

Re: EYOC 2013
This just doesn't make sense. We need to send full teams to these kind of races, increase the personal funding if necessary. The decent (but not at the top of the results list) 18s now can be world champions in 5 years time with hard work and dedication. BOF essentially saying 'nobody was good enough' could be a brutal blow to people in the age group we NEED to keep in the sport.

I agree with the sentiments expressed above.
Thank goodness for JROS
http://www.jros.org.uk/
Without them, and the hard working volunteers making things happen, most of our juniors would have nothing to aspire to.

BO wrote: There will be an Athlete Contribution of £200 for the European Youth Orienteering Championships.
Is that £200 for the management on top of travel, accom and entries?
