Turning our attention to the big event of next week, in Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic.
It is run with the full rigour of major competition rules.
Competitors are born in 1993 or later.
Everyone can run every discipline and generally does, so there are for example twice as many Swedes to contend with compared to WOC. Entries are 153 women, 177 men.
Incidentally I see Ted Finch of Forth Valley is down for the jury.
Monday 1st July - Long, straight final
Tuesday - Middle Qualification
Wednesday - Middle Finals
Thursday -
Friday - Sprint, straight final
Saturday - Relay
Stony slopes with boulders up to 5m beckon for the middle. A hilly coniferous forest with young trees, felled areas and paths for the long.
The bulletin says the relay competition will be televised live, and the Middle Final will have complete live coverage but televised one day later, both in cooperation with czech tv. The long, sprint and middle Qualification races will be recorded as well and televised as recorded broadcasts later. An on-line internet result service and live tracking will also be used - several races will use GPS.
I am cautiously optimistic about the TV broadcasts being on the net sometime after the event, but am not entirely clear on things, for example if the middle final is broadcast a day late and the relay live, will that be the same programme - do we settle in for a long watching?
All best wishes to the 12 athletes making up the British Team
In their final junior year:
Charlotte Watson (West Cumberland)
Peter Bray (Cleveland)
Jonathan Crickmore (Southdowns)
William Gardner (Octavian Droobers)
and not in their final junior year
Lucy Butt (Sarum)
Julie Emmerson (Octavian Droobers)
Zoe Harding (South Ribble)
Tamsin Moran (Southampton)
Katie Reynolds (Swansea Bay)
Christopher Galloway (Interlopers)
Adam Potter (Bristol)
Aidan Smith (South Yorkshire)
As noted in the WOC thread both Lucy and Charlotte got brilliant top-10s in the forest last year.
Our relay teams were 13th (men - actually a great run by the second team) and 9th (women).
The best men's positions in each race - well done Jamie Stevenson - were 19th, 24th and 25th.
A few people in other teams you may have heard of:
Frida Sandberg of Sweden - a medal in every discipline last year.
Miri Thrane Odum of Denmark - Venla winner this year
Florian Schneider of Switzerland - 3rd in last year's middle distance
Corrections and additions welcome, also pointers to any bio's, blogs etc for our team please.

Charlotte W and Peter B look like standout performers so far. Could be top 10 for both although Peter less certain than Charlotte. Not seen any splits for Jonny C yet!
