Re: Jukola 2013 this weekend
Who to look out for?
It's easy to spot the GB club teams in the start list - sort by flag - but not other GB runners.
In the Venla seen so far:
63 Charlotte OK Ravinen leg 1
33 Rachael Rothman, Lidingo leg 1
36 Hilary Palmer, Lillomarka OL1 leg 3
99 Jessica Orr, Konnerud IL 2
Any more?
Anyone got a good idea of which GB runners are in Jukola?

Donald McCarthy, Ärla IF 2, leg 3
Sarah-Jane Gaffney should be running for OK Ravinen
I'll be keeping an extra eye on a special challenge between Trail-O (AKA PreO) SWE vs Trail-O FIN:
1425 TrailO Team Finland 1
585 TrailO Team Sweden 1

Re: Jukola 2013 this weekend
Team 7 OK Linne 1 has Catherine Taylor on Leg 1. Good chance they will pan a TV camera along the front row at the start (which is midday our time.) Cat could well be right up there for the whole leg - good luck to her.
Look out also for Riina Kuuselo, leg 1 for team 41, Tampereen Pyrintö 1.

Re: Jukola 2013 this weekend
Greetings from the Jukola Media tent.
Its bit blustery here - which is always helpful to keep the mosquitoes down. The odd break in the greyish clouds give some sunshine but the sky looks like rain showers would be no surprise. Probably about 16 degrees. I can see a team of 20 or so checking the maps.
Black and red seem to be the colours this year - baseball caps and jackets adorn the many officials.
As usual, the Finnish army are here showing of a fine array of equipment (some you can climb in/on/over! and at 1230 Finnish time we get a performance from......
The Conscript Band of the Finnish Defence Forces - so I am on the edge of my fold up chair in anticipation as that is only 30 minutes away.
Cat Taylor will surely be out to prove her worth after disqualifying her team in TioMila. Although they have not trusted her to run last leg again it would seem, as noted above she is off first. OK Linne have never won Jukola before.
Riina Kuuselo however and Tampereen Pyrinto have twice - the club leads the overall winners table with 4 wins over the years and 26 x places 1st - 15th!!
