Re: NORT / World Cup
Great run by Chris, still leading with 50 or so men finished, and about 20 more to come. Tessa's run looks good too.
Simone versus Tove looks like a real battle... about 2 seconds apart half way round...

Re: NORT / World Cup
Womens race finished. Simone wins again, 20 secs ahead of Tove.
Tess 14th +1:15
Cat 27th +1:53
Sarah 37th +2:13
Chris still leading the Mens, with about 60 at the finish. This is going to be a great result...

Looks like Murray had to go back to 11 after punching 12 - the curse of EMIT???

Re: NORT / World Cup
World Class run by Chris, 4th, ahead of two of the three WOC sprint medallists from last year. The sprint training in Holt Park must have helped
Chris 4th +0:25
Matt 25th +0:58
Ralph 47th +1:32
Rich 63rd +2:29
Murray 67th +3:25
Murray was flying but had some kind of problem at 11 and had to go back to it after 12. Either ran straight past, or didn't register, I guess. Nearly 3 mins lost, so perhaps would have been a top 10.

Nah! It was getting lost for 8 minutes or so at a misty, murky Hanging Moor on Wednesday night that was the real key! Great result!

Worse than that - thought I'd forgotten to go to 11 when actually I was fine. Muppet.
More details on my blog.

Re: NORT / World Cup
So is that too late for Chris to sneak on to the WOC sprint team?
I had heard rocky was looking for a Scotia-esque performance

Re: NORT / World Cup
Congrats to all GBR runners who had good runs & all the best for the week to those who didn't run as well as they hoped
[I'll be in Finland next week & will try to get over to Turku to shout you guys on a bit:)]
It's a pity that the World Cup isn't really a 'world' cup or even a 'european' cup given the number of countries that are not present at the competitions.... but that takes nothing away from the GBR team... they are there & can only compete against the others there... the missing countries is an issue for the politicians to sort

Re: NORT / World Cup
Not so good results in the forest today... looks like only one GBR athlete hits the top 40 in men or women. Sweden will maybe cheer everyone up a bit

Re: NORT / World Cup
Nort is always pretty hard to get a good result in, as there are usually 8 athletes from each of the top nations, and they are on home terrain, with a home crowd. It's important not to get dq'd in any races if you want to be able to run the last race, so although murray threw away a good run, it's better that than being disqualified so early in the week.
Good luck to the team in stage 3. Head to head sprint racing - the most horrible and pointless of all formats.

Re: NORT / World Cup
Well said @housewife.
Out of interest, who knows how many GBRs have had medal top3 in
World Cup (incl EOC and WOC) individual races?
I guess we have had a few more with top6 podium, but I am expecting Chris is in good company.
