Hi,
Having worked in Romania for the past 2 years and relocating back to UK in July, I wanted to do one last thing for the country I've enjoyed living and working in. So my colleague Matt and I are currently cycling the 3000+km back home from Petrofac's office in Ticleni, Romania to our company's office in Woking to raise money for Relief Fund For Romania, a charity which raises money for disadvantaged children and adults in Romania and which works with an orphanage in Tirgu Carbunesti which we have visited at Christmas the past 2 years to give out presents and watch their concert.
The kids there are extremely cheery, well looked after and bright but need help to secure futures once they leave the school. Our HSE manager is an example of an abandoned child who benefited from funding that came in after many in UK were shocked by TV images from the early 90s and went on to something with his life. I am happy to say that these tv images are no longer the norm from what i have seen but they are still reliant on funding.
I know everyone gets dozens of these requests through work and family life but if you wish to sponsor us please visit the website below. Any donations large and small are welcomed, this challenge will not be easy, as testified by the fact that I am writing this standing up due to an inflamed bottom.
