SE Europe/Latin Countries O Champs - 3rd-8th September

Hi,

Apologies for the plug for an event on the other side of Europe but I wanted to make you all aware of an excellent event taking place in the area close to where I stay in Romania. Although this event is the championships for SE Europe and Latin countries and will contain teams from Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Spain, Italy etc it will also be a 6 day event for other people including sprint, middle and long distance. The terrain is quite hilly with lots of gullies, but beautiful forests of oak and beech it reminds me of what Deeside may have looked like without the ice age and with a bit less rain! The weather in September will be perfect - very little precipitation but not too hot - around 25-30 degC.

If you have ever wanted to see what the last great wilderness of Europe looks like combined with orienteering this is your chance to do it! Less than 2 hours travel time from Bucharest you have the chance to see attractions such as:

building I've ever seen

Although I will have moved back to work in London by August I will be attending and have already booked flights via british airways. Other airlines include KLM, Tarom and the budget airline Wizzair.

I know many of you are restricted by school holidays but if you are keen to investigate further then you can send me a PM. I spoke to the organisers last weekend in Bulgaria and they are keen to get more Brits across because they expect a lot of visitors from the rest of Europe for this competition.
