Well I hope he makes it to the Commonwealths. Scott’s achievements in orienteering have been fantastic but it would be good to get some recognition from the wider sporting world, and in a context that Joe Public can understand.

Scott is racing in the wee small hours of Friday morning I think (Thursday evening California time). It may well be streamed somewhere (FloTrack I would guess) - and available to repeat over your cereal on Friday - I'll post a link nearer the time if I can find one.Mrs H wrote:Can someone keep us up to date with those results from California please?

Schedule is here
http://www.mtsacrelays.com/divisions/in ... edule.html
I believe this is a paced 10k and Scott will have someone trying to get him round for the qualifying time, as opposed to a field pushing and shoving and trying to win like at the Swedish Champs.

Fingers crossed for a fast time!
Of course wouldn't it be great if he could get selected and do awesomely well at the Commonwealths and then give an interview like Carsten Jorgensen did on winning the European Champs in XC - I don't take it seriously, I just use it as fitness for my orienteering (or words to that effect).

Baby Giraffe chasing butterfly at zoo?

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg
