Has anyone else had trouble recently loading Routegadget? I am wondering if my troubles with it are linked to the PC upgrading to Java 1.7
My 1.6 ones can still load it, but give security warnings.
Above is using Firefox.

Re: java 1.7 + Routegadget
yep, I had similar problems.
I am now working again, albeit with a warning about a plugin.
I think a subsequent Microsoft auto-update (part-)fixed it.

Re: java 1.7 + Routegadget
There have been some problems recently with Java and it being used as a method to hack into your computer. Many Apple experts are suggesting you disable Java in you main browser and use a second browser just to view any Java dependant sites you want to use and then close it down. So security settings have been getting more restrictive on it's use.
I've had a few queries recently from people that are having trouble with newer WIndows machines and the latest version of Java. Some get it working after a bit of fiddling around, re-installing or offering a sacrifice to the gods (virgin orienteers are a good choice).

Thanks Paul, nice to hear I am not alone.

is the sort of thing you are talking about with vulnerabilities.
I think I'm behind on MS updates on a couple of them as they are "managed" machines and we take a while to install new MS stuff.

Re: java 1.7 + Routegadget
I had trouble with Routegadget some time ago when I tried to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 (this was on Windows 7, XP was OK as far as I remember), and I had to go through a tortuous process to get back to the old version. But just recently I upgraded again (the control panel says Version 7 Update 13), and everything is fine apart from the "nag" box that others have mentioned (which seems to appear once for each club you access on Routegadget).

Re: java 1.7 + Routegadget
Although I have Java installed I get the message:
"If you see this, you need to install Java VM
Go to www.java.com
Maps published on this web site that contain OS data by permission of Ordnance Survey® Licence Number 100046745. "
I can go to the link etc. and even reinstall Java but still get the message. It makes our current home computer redundant for Route-gadget and uploading our Garmin GPS tracks.
Anyone know what is wrong?

I have RouteGadget loading OK on my Win7 machine with current Java, but the animations feature doesn't work. Anyone else seen this?

Re: java 1.7 + Routegadget
I had problems with the last Java update. Eventually completely uninstalled Java and did a clean install after which it seems to be working ok.

I haven't had animation working on my Mac for a couple of years now. Something must have changed but I've never found out what.
