Brilliant result NW in a close finish. Think the boys relay did it for them, with the legend Dave Schorah.
Must admit I didn't expect WM to do so well but fair play to em....

OK Guys just back - greatest JIRCs ever, spectator friendly, wonderful commentary and good food, good table tennis, racing around trees, cameras etc. Those who weren't there missed out BIG time.
A Big to the organisers and to Rocky the day 2 planner!

OK, so it was all a big conspiracy confuse the opposition!
So it didn't work, but hey, we didn't come last (overall, anyway!)
i'm afraid to say i have my doubts ros, because you have never won the JHIs so...

I want to walk up the side of the mountain, I want to walk down the other side of the mountain. I want to swim in the river, lie in the sun. I want to try being nice to everyone.

I'd justs like to say well done to the N. Irish team. It was great to see a team at JIRC's again and i hope this has encouraged you all to keep it up and be tempted to travell to more events. If i'm ever back hopefully we can get some training in and see if we can get you a few more points next year. WELL DONE GUYS!!

Congratulations boys I think you just changed the face of orienteering forever. it was really good (and eddie i loved the commentary). I think the whole thing was pitched perfectly. nothing to be done about the weather on saturday but i liked the opening ceremony and it just doesn't get any better than the relays. A big thank you to Suse Coon for the thorough but relaxed organisation (It was particularly thoughtful of her to provide some shelter for the teams who had flown in without club tents). the accommodation was superb and so was the food ( if you didn't like the macaroni cheese you should have had the meat pie!). The caretaker told me they had had many groups to stay at the school but there had never been an occasion before when there had been no damage and no cheek - so well done everyone. Neville has added his nope hoody to his collection of esoteric orienteering garments (Brazil jacket, Czeck T shirt etc) i'll just get on with the washing now

Hear hear! It was a fantastic weekend and more than worth the 22 or so hours on the minibus to get there and back! Congrats go to North West once more but it was great to see more competition this year. Great commentary, courses, organisation - the best I've been to yet.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

Yeah I think the relay planning was really good. You constantly knew how well your team was getting on and the gaffling was brilliant. I started in a pack but by the second control we were split before meeting up again behind the houses then a split before the spectator control. Of the runners in the pack none of us were on the exact same map I think which made it very challenging but it was excellant. well done Rocky!
