Valid, but don't forget the 'high and mighty' Barabarara Drew setting the pace early on...

Well, NIOC are the unknowns...
will they make an impression on the big debut??

all the squad have weaknesses and strengths - NW have had to put a start squad runner as non competitive, as they have 5 start squad 16s. some squads don't have 1 start runner

The W18 isn't sewn up. As mentioned there is Lizzie Adams but what about Jess Halliday, Jo Thompson , Tess Hill, Rosie Hodkinson, Rosie Brocklebank. I'd say that is probably as open as M16. On this years form I'd think Dougie or Rhodri but Matt, Rob and Dave Schorah, or Jack Wood or Ross Thistle........
W 14's Emily looks good but Catherine Bushnell could push her if fully fit now, she's had some good runs.
W16 I expect C taylor will do it but I'd like to see others shine. Lizzie B, Jo Halliday. Go on Helen as well
M14's Looks good for George Stevens but often this class doesn't go to form. Nerves and all that.
M18. I'd go for Chris M. Alround experience and just class!!!

im not gonna say too much, but i wouldnt write the scots off just because its a weakened team, scots in scotland is always gonna be tough to beat, and they're gonna be far less travel-fatigued than everyone else
although not many of the team will have the same home advantage other regions have had on home terrain... but i think kirsten knows gullane pretty well, and kyle on callendar park is an explosive combo.
having just done a final pre-run of the relays i would say.... <silenced>
