Sorry for the blatant plug but the first major event of the year is now just a few weeks away.
The venue is Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood and the Major Oak. For the many that I have spoke to that are getting mixed up Sherwood Forest is this area (http://www.noc-uk.org/gadget/cgi-bin/reitti.cgi?act=map&id=7&kieli=) which is fast open oak forest and heathland and not this one (http://www.noc-uk.org/gadget/cgi-bin/re ... =15&kieli=) which is a working plantation forest (although many parts of the south are very pleasant).
This year the courses will not be using Bilhaugh to the east of the main road but will use Sherwood Forest West which has not been used for a number of years; so no need to use busy road crossings, timed crossings and sections of dead running.
Map updated by award winning mapper David Olivant with GPS accuracy and planned by your truly.

Re: Midland Champs 2013
It'll be interesting to see what effect BOF's latest devaluation of their own creation of level 1 regional championships by excluding some from their new national league will have.
I suspect that most people will not see this as a "major" event and will vote with their wallrts by not entering.
Having run at Budby in the past it was without a doubt the best part of Sherwood Forest - I really enjoyed it there.

Yeah fabian4 has a "full time student" checkbox. £5 - cheapest level A event this year?

Re: Midland Champs 2013
I've got a Midlands Champs trophy to return but I won't be at the event this weekend. Is there anyone going to the event from the Loughborough / north Leicester area who would be able take this trophy for me (if I dropped it off one evening this week)?
