Future urban event areas
What areas will or could be used for future events, having just cycled round Runcorn, has anyone, Dee? Looked at it?

Berwick is in the NATO long/medium plan as is Newcastle Upon Tyne but we may offer somewhere else earlier that coud be fun/challenging.
We'd also like to do Durham but another club has "dibs"

UDOC had a map of Durham about 3 - 4 years ago, but the Council weren't keen for an event.

St Ives should be excellent.

Re: Future urban event areas
So many possibilities.....
We've mapped Thirsk which is good but we can't fit it into our fixtures at the moment!
And the Edwardians designed and built an area of cemeteries and parkland (Peasholm and adjacent areas) specially for orienteering (such foresight) in Scarborough - we've just been given permission for this superb area for an event next November..... better than the British Elite Champs area of a few years ago!
And elsewhere what about a ruined abbey - Fountains Abbey would be great.
And I keep meaning to ask the owners of Thorp Arch Estate.
