it couldnt take much time to come up with a proper bo scoring system, infact is rediculous that it dont have one already.
i reckon somthing like this:
top 3 score in indviual, 1 relay team in the relay.
this may seem like there are not that many scorers, but remember that there are a lot of unis a lot smaller that sheffiled and edinburgh and it would be unfair on them to make 2 relay teams count. i think this is good, scoring system should be somthing like x-coutnry system
1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points etc etc... lowest score wins
and for the relay 1st team = 3points, 2nd = 6 points (1 point per person)
if any teams are on equal points it should go on countback of highest position until we have a winner
simple system
My view:
well this is the place to debate it. i think most unis will have six male runners/three female runners. in the spirit of uni sport which aims to be all inclusive as well as elite. it would be good for runners at lesser unis to see that their run is worth something.
so top six males/ top three females using mharkys scoring system
two male relay teams/ two female relay teams
if shuoc can find the old results it would be good to see how many unis would have competitive teams.
