according to orientering.no, the official website for the norwegian o federation, they have selected 9 guys to run at the european champs.
according to bulletin 2 http://www.eoc2004.dk/en/bulletin2.htm teams should be "up to 14, 7 men, 7 females"
hmmm, this has been taken out of bulletin 3, the most up to date one, but there is no mention of it being changed....
i wonder if they know?

I understood that defending champions could only run as additional runners in the race if they were members of the federation team (ie. a country could have 6 +defending champ running the classic/short/sprint but only if defending champ was one of the 7 selected for the team)

You might be right Toni, I never checked rules. It's all changed nowadays... if every nation can run 6 in the classic (for example) then the defending champ could also run & therefore it would be 7.... and subject to the champ being selected by the Federation..... i.e. the Champ doesn't get an automatic wild card...... best thing to be sure is check the rules... someone will I'm certain:)

OK... checked the rules (for World Cup which EOC is part of). Nations can enter upto 6 men & 6 women per event....... so if EOC includes a relay & an individual then a completely differant 6 could be taken... so could be 12 men & 12 women.....
That of course assumes that WC rules take priority over EOC?
