Footballers orienteering on TV
Sunlitforres reports that STV cameras were recording Inverness Caledonian Thistle's players taking part in an orienteering race in the (embargoed) part of Forres as part of a team training session. Supposedly being broadcast between 6 and 6.30 this evening.

Re: Footballers orienteering on TV
Apparently the player doesn't work in Firefox but does in Internet Explorer. Positive feel , lots of running but none of what makes the sport interesting -the need to engage brain while trying to travel as quickly as possible.
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Brilliant. No coverage of the sport, but plenty of mention with it being fully endorsed by the players, and going out on national news.

Excellent bit of PR - and whilst it doesn't get into the technical details of the sport, it's obvious from the players' comments and the shots of WeeJ et al that it was hard work, not a stroll in the park, and most definitely a running sport.

Some feedback......
The former England U21 international said: “It has been great – orienteering is something that does not get much publicity and I did not know too much about it although I used to do bits and bobs at school when I was a kid.
“Coming here it was great seeing the setup that they have and what they can do for the young people.
