note these are unofficial and won't stand up as evidence in any trial.
Sprint - Livingston
Final details say: You must use the under-pass between the 2 parts.
You must: USE THE UNDERPASS & abide by ISSOM rules.
Blurb: There are lots of big roads separating all the parts of Livingston with underpasses and bridges between the sections. A few people were DSQ'd at an event nearby last year for crossing the road rather than using the underpass. It wouldn't surprise me if there's a marshal on the road above it as people do travel very fast on these roads.
Middle - Dunalastair
Final details say: The area is bisected by a small river which most competitors will cross at a compulsory point as this is deep in places and varies significantly with rainfall. There are deer fences, stock fencing and walls. Where required there are compulsory crossing points with stiles whilst other fences may be crossed with care at any point.
You must: Cross river at marked crossing and use marked points on the map for certain fences.
Blurb: The final details aren't particularly clear about what is or isn't marked on the map. Hopefully uncrossables are marked with purple on the map.
Long - Craig a Barns
Final details say: Craig a Barns has dangerous crags which will not be taped and great care should be taken. Cagoules may be compulsory.
You must: Not fall off crags, watch out for compulsory cagoule signs.
Blurb: Courses look shorter than I'd expect (espeically the WE), so expect slow going!
Relay - Newtyle
Final details say: There are marked crossing points on many fences. Purple highlighted uncrossable fences must not be crossed except at a designated crossing point.
You must: Not cross any purple highlighted fences except at the crossing points.
Blurb: ??
If I've missed anything feel free to PM me and I'll add it, should help those who are disinclined to read the final details!

JK Programme - Sprint Race wrote:There are a number of busy roads around the perimeter and one through the middle of the venue. These are marked out of bounds using red stripes. In a few locations a solid red line has also been used to emphasise that you must not cross / must not run on to the road. Any breach of the mapped out of bounds or must not cross may result in disqualification.
Good. The OOB will be marked on the maps, which is as it should be. Telling us that in the programme is of course also helpful.

We should have sent the programme for review to Nopesport first rather than relying on the event officials

Cagoules may be used as impromptu parachutes though...

Sounds like a dangerous place for him/her to be - I do hope s/he doesn't get squashed like a hedgehog.

Start times up: https://www.sientries.co.uk/list.php?event_id=605
Prize fund for the Sprint now heading north of £2000.
Strongest domestic field ever on elite, but they'll have to beat the foreigners including women's world champion.
Also confirmed (not in details): there will be "thrones" for the elite leaders to sit in
, and be deposed from
.
Full details at: http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/jk2012/livingston
blurb
High barriers surrounding private land are mapped as uncrossable walls: thick black lines without tags, some may appear as fences on the ground and in the control descriptions.
There is a complicated bridge over the river. The only legal way to cross, is to go under the main road, up steps, across the bridge, down steps and back under the main road. Technically ISSOM doesn't use two-level, and it appears that you have to "cross" an uncrossable wall (which is in fact 5m above your head). See the map sample to show this area. It is obvious when you get there, but may not be at the point where you decide to go that way.
In order to maximise control security, any competitor willing to assist in watching controls after their run is welcome to do so. This will give you a unique opportunity to spectate a sprint race in action. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this opportunity should contact the organiser.
I heard there might also be some little competition going on on Saturday and Sunday too, maybe in some faraway forest where you don't have to run so fast?

Frog/Freefall,
For the relays what constitutes an entry change?
Does this mean that we will be charged for swapping around runners to cover injuries, illnesses etc or does it just refer to swapping classes (in which case to what does the per competitor fee refer)?

"For entry changes made at the event, the cost will be £5.00 per competitor per day, and £15.00 per relay team."

Re: JK Final Details - important notes!
I see that day 2 assembly is 800 metres from parking in the opposite direction from the starts. Can anyone (Freefall?) confirm that there will be some (possibly limited) toilets at the parking to avoid a mile walk in addition to going to the start?

Re: JK Final Details - important notes!
I'll let freefall answer that as I don't understand the individual v team changes as all changes will be for teams and there was some talk by the entry team of not bothering charging anything as it was too much hassle to administer taking and recording the money.

And that's just in the car park. Wait until you see the competition area

Re: JK Final Details - important notes!
day 4 blurb, if you're not as manually dextrous as you used to be bring your own safety pins. I ordered 6000 safety pins on line and 2cm sounded quite big too me so I went for the cheap ones. They look fine for elves. At least they won't make big holes in your running vests!

Re: JK Final Details - important notes!
Frog - we have ordered safety pins with the red, white and blue bibs. As worn at the 6 Day. In answer to Day 2 walk Oldman - yes, we intend to have some toilets at the car park. Neil C I am not actually sure on this - it's a relic from last year's JK (and probably before that) so checking up with the experts as to the scope.

Someone could have told the controller and I. BOF will now have 6000 extra safety pins for next time
