Might be worth explaining that Linnea is living over here at least partly: http://www.okhallen.se/Default.asp?p=25 ... ntID=14880

Re: British Middles
Claire, because Helen (British) wasn't fastest, Linnea isn't British, and you've got to be in it to win it!

Re: British Middles
it's elite champs so the 21/35 rule goes out the window for a start. Linnea can get a prize for winning but she can't be british champ

andy: I think everyone knows perfectly well what the official rules are, the intention of the poll is to see what people think the rules should be.
(Ok, I now understand Linnea has joined BOF so 3 and 4 are basically the same)

Re: British Middles
If you follow the link to the results from the article on the BOF website is shows the newly crowned British Champ in 2nd place.... kind of devalues the meaning of British Middle Champion if the official results show the 'winner' as not actually the 'winner'

Re: British Middles
Linnea or Claire depending on what residency rule we settle on.
New citizen rule is ridiculous and should be changed for next year, but some may consider 2 months residency a little too short.
Definitely not Helen as Claire beat her.

Re: British Middles
Since it looks like nobody will vote for "none of the above".
Should a scheduled BOC which clashes with an international race the top elites would rather do?
Or should the needs of the vast majority override a handful of elites?
Just saying "its unfortunate" doesn't cut it, since we know the same will happen (again) with Tio/BOC, so it is clearly a deliberate policy.

Re: British Middles
obviously I'm a bit out of the elite scene these days but the field looked stronger in York than in Italy, people don't have to run the British Champs but it's not always the British fixture list at fault. Last year we went to great effort to move the Long so it didn't clash with the Nordics (which were then cancelled) and still people didn't come.

I would consider two months residency too short, but if Linnea is still living in the UK next year then she should be eligible.

That seems reasonable to me. I am inclined towards a residency requirement of between 6 and 12 months.
