There's a provisional schedule for the 2012 UK Relay League now online at http://ukrelayleague.org.uk/
Note that there are a couple of exciting new races for 2012 - a Sprint Relay organised by SYO at Endcliffe Student Village, Sheffiled, and a UK Relay League Final organsied by PFO at Tockholes. With the big Jubilee Five event I'm also expecting a larger-than-usual Southerner entry at the Scottish Relays.
To make the most of these races, I would encourage any club who would normally struggle to field a full team for the JK/BRC Premier classes or on the Harvester A course to consider forming an alliance with a neighbouring club who are in a similar position.
Applying for an alliance is really very simple - you just need to email me. Alliances only apply for the top open/premier men's and women's relay classes at UKRL races, so they don't affect your junior/veteran teams or your CompassSport Cup chances, and you can form them for your men's teams, women's teams or both as you wish.
Technically the deadline for requesting to form an alliance is today(!), but as I have so far received no applications I am going to extend this until 15th February.
If you are interested in forming an alliance, please email me asap at sjcollier@gmail.com

Re: Neighbouring Club Alliances
Seeing how the first UK Relay league aint unti the 9th of April, why not delay the deadline a little longer. I doubt many clubs have started putting their JK teams together just yet. Why not make the deadline the same date as the JK relay entry deadline, or at least 15th of March, gives clubs a chance to sort things out.

Bumpity bump. I have had a couple of applications, but I'm sure there must be plenty more half-decent M/W21s out there in clubs that would struggle to form a Premier relay team. Get talking to your friends/rivals in the club next door and email me asap! sjcollier@gmail.com
