Some of us not at the Harvester ran at the Shrewsbury Urban event.
Just to say that I really enjoyed my run - the Long course was well planned with plenty of route choice, good use of the various old streets and alleys in the town centre, the bridges and the usual devious use of uncrossable features. Thanks Wrekin for a very enjoyable event.
There was some slight glitch with control descriptions and download on the long course but everybody seems to have been reinstated.
Will there be Routegadget?

WRE don't have Routegadget so it's highly unlikely.

Congratulations to Gabriella Walsh for scoring 1447 ranking points on the long course!
Except that she didn't complete the course in 5:39, so there's an error in the results upload. If the WRE results person is reading this, you might like to have another go at uploading them (but put a 3 in the classifier column for Gabriella, for DNF).

Re: Shrewsbury Urban event
If I had run a course in 5 minutes that took everybody else over 50 I would be expecting more than 1447 points.

WRE set up the SINS Routegadget, so they could use that http://www.sins.org.uk/Routegadget_0907 ... reitti.cgi

Correct - she broke her ankle from leaving the start kite, never managed to make it to the first control, her foot went into a hole in the flat manicured grassland and stayed there. She is now on crutches and not running at S6D

Get well soon Gabriella.

Yes, my best wishes to Gabriella too - I was nearby when it happened.
Actually I think it may even be worse than you said - I'm not sure she even made it as far as map collection, certainly not as far as the start kite (no more than 10m from the start punch). Is this a record?

The ranking points are corrected now, thanks.
Yes, best wishes for a quick recovery to Gabriella.

No - I tripped on the Start line at a Caddihoe Chase a few years ago - right at Alan Halliday's feet. Result - operation to remove all the grit that had gone right into my elbow joint and 2 weeks off work!!

I'd a lucky escape at one of Stag's park events last year, failing to see them metal bollards across the path just after picking up my map - if I'd been an inch or two shorter.....
Orienteering - its no walk in the park
