I've got a copy of part of the map, looks crazy! I went to venice for a day when we were out at WMOC, and we got lost just walking with a map with street names..hopefully there won't be quite as many tourists in november??

If anyone is interested flights are currently 42 quid return (inc tax) from leeds to venice with jet2 - that's 4 nov - 7-nov.
sadly I am starting a new job and don't know if I can get the day off yet so I can't book flights

It was a few years ago now, but when I went there we stayed at this campsite, across the lagoon from the city (20 minutes by ferry). 4 euros/tent plus 7 euros/person per night, or 13 euros/person in cabins. Good facilities IIRC, but not particularly scenic as it's next to a large chemical works...
