This seems to be the latest in a long line of new requirements being made on the sport by the insurance companies but it would be interesting to know what efforts have been made to find some less proscriptive insurance cover.
Given that orienteering is hardly the most dangerous sport in the world - when was the last time that someone died as a result of an orienteering accident - why is this the case and how do other far more dangerous sports (like ski-ing, rugby, road cycling) manage to get any cover at all

Has anyone (and I'll pluck a name out of the hat here ) like the SOA investigated the alternatives?
