We're still reaping the benefits of a back-page spread from the 2009 Moray Mix - the local press became seriously interested in us after that was published. I'll try and find a copy of the full article for you Mrs H. If you're lucky I might still have the pin-up photo of Jon Hollingdale that went with it.

There's an even better urban race lined up for Moray Mix Mk 2 next month and Culbin East is unlikely to disappoint. I think Eddie H is rather pleased with his urban courses at Lossie so if you're heading North for the weekend it's time to start looking forward to it.

Sunlitforres is too modest - he writes them all! If you got them all you'd probably have to give all your prizes to him - Mike Rodgers.

Batty - that's great WHO SENT IT IN?
Thanks for the post Greywolf - well impressed
Now I'm indebted to one of my prize correspondents Jane M/C for alerting me to this opportunity to get an orienteer in The Olympics Great publicity - I think there is a precedent for this as Denzil carried the flag some years back as I recall. Get nominating

When I organised my first event - the planner got an excellent piece in the local paper, complete with full colour O Map - I think I have a copy somewhere

I did carry the "Baton" in the Commonwealth Games Relay when the Games came to Manchester in 2000. I only carried it for a few hundred metres alongside the Lickey Hills (downhill section). I remember how heavy it was. They gave me a very smart outfit to wear - pity it was ten sizes too big. They accepted me when I made a big issue of my knee operations. I can certainly improve on that now.
I was tempted to apply for the 2012 Torch Relay, but I hope to be living in Australia by then.

Re: Prizes for Publicity
As Compasssport is a little bit late coming out this month i thought perhaps I better say here that i will have a bijou mobile stand at the Harlequins tent at the Scottish 6 Days to hand out prizes for publicity.
Look for the following sign. Please bring a long samples of your efforts for me to see and collect your lovely and useful prize.
(Please don't get too excited about the prize - it is extremely modest - remember Nick paid for it - it's the thought that counts )

I was on BBC Radio WM again today. Towards the end of Joanne Malin's show http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0021kmd from 2:09:28. The number of times I've emailed them, it's nice when I got on. The last time was about two years ago. Carl Chinn also mentioned this week's events on his show on Sunday afternoon. Do you need a link for that, Lynden?

I've got a letter in the Daly Mail today about The olympics, me and orienteering. I know you all hate the paper but I love it
Only just nipped out and bought it at the last minute when the rain stopped. think I'll give myself a prize

Mel Nicoll deserves a prize for her great efforts at the JK. In terms of national (Scottish) coverage she did get me the BBC Radio Scotland Out of Doors bit on Street Orienteering (yes, we have had this debate...) but also some really good stuff in local (Perthshire) papers as well as her own interview on Heartland FM.
