Re: Compass Sport Cup
Results not finalized for the North West heat at Watergrove yet. But a big thank you to all the SELOC helpers who stood in the pouring rain all morning to enable me to get sopping wet running round on't moors - the weather was pretty grim.
By the way, an empty bottle of water has appeared in our kitchen this evening, which my daughter says she picked up at the finish today. Upon closer inspection, this Danone Hayawiya mineral water claims to be bottled at source in.... Turkey. Not enough water to be had nearby?

And BADO in the Trophy. This has been added to the results page:
"Congratulations to BOK and SOC who go through in the Cup competition and Sarum and BADO who go through in the Trophy competition. BADO go through based on competition rule 4.3.2 which states if there are eight or more teams in a Qualifying Round match then the first two teams shall qualify for the Final. Although only seven teams ran in the Trophy round, an eighth team entered but had to withdraw and the CS Cup Co-Ordinator and Chairman of Rules Group agree that rule 4.3.2 should apply."

Provisionally
SLOW -- Cup
GO -- Trophy
But VERY close in the latter so (as per last year) there may be amendments
when the full results are published and scrutinised.

Nice to see BADO getting a reward for getting 2nd place in such a tight contest.

Re: Compass Sport Cup
Cheers Ant W for your kind words about BADO qualifying for the Compass Sport Trophy final (a first as far as anyone can remember!!). Going through on a judges interpretation of the rulebook made things pretty tense, but there is now much excitement in this little corner of Hampshire, that's for sure. The word giant-killers normally follows the words FA Cup, but maybe for a few days it can follow the words Compass Sport Trophy for a change. David (BADO Club Captain).

Today was the North East round of the CSC. Results are here. SYO won in the Cup, and EPOC in the Trophy. I'm guessing AIRE also go through to the Final.
The courses were tough, and the map was interesting. It seemed to have the right number of contours, but not all of them were in the right place.

Martin Ward, SYO (Chair) & SPOOK.

Claro do as well - EPOC were 2nd in the Trophy Final last year.
Agree about the contours! Thoroughly enjoyed Blue Men, managing to steer round most of the 'interesting' features by keeping it ultra-simple, although was finally caught out by the map on the penultimate control (as were many others it seems). This was definitely not at Level B standard, although the rest of the event was.
