The British Ski-O Championships (unofficial) were held at Dess Woods today. The courses took the form of a Norwegian Score course of 17 controls, or a shorter 12 controls (competitors choice).
Winner of the long course was Dave Hirst M45 (Maroc) in a time of 65-21 and the short course was won by Esther Gooch W35 (Maroc) in 56-35
Conditions were tricky with a slight overnight thaw followed by refreezing at dawn meaning crusty snow and fast descents! 36 skiers and 1 snow shoer participated. There were plenty of route choice decisions and many competitors chose to ski "off piste" to cut corners from the prepared tracks.
We would like to thank Deeside Activity Park for providing (cleared) parking and delicious food/drinks in the cafe afterwards.
Full results will be posted on the Maroc website. http://www.marocscotland.org.uk

Future Olympians - there were several youngsters who showed at least as much skill as any of the adults. Too early to say.
