Forgive my impatience and sorry if you opened this expecting answers - perhaps you'll find them as a result.
Anyway when might we expect the 2011 programme - I need cheering up
Also when are entries for Edinburgh opening - I get nervous once I've booked flights and hotels that I might turn up having forgotten to enter

Oh thank you Brooner - will you be doing it in the manner of a Nopesport advent calendar and opening the doors to reveal a venue a day?

Well the Nato Jan 9 event won't be as I think that is a "what's the number on the lampost" level D run.
The unlisted 26th March Nato event at Leazes Park (inc FCC) might be worth consideration -and as it is the day before the Northern Championships at Ray Demense -worth a trip to the North-East?
There you go, Freefall, plugging for you again ( he's planning Ray D)

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Re: Nopesport Urban League 2011
I think Eddie H is bidding for the Lossiemouth event (11 June) to be included in the Nopesport League. The exceedingly complex housing estate that was used for the Scottish Sprint Champs in 2009 is on part of the map - now extended on a huge scale to take in the whole town. The event is part of the Moray Mix Weekend that includes a Scottish O League 'Regional' event at Culbin the next day.

NOC are putting on the Nottingham Urban event on 5th June next year. Likely start and finish as this year but accessing some different areas of the City. Not yet on BO fixtures but definitely work in progress for mapping and permissions.

Re: Nopesport Urban League 2011
Oh and I should have mentioned there will be an evening urban race held in Ludlow on Sunday May 29th as part of the Springtime in Shropshire weekend which in itself is going to be fantastic with a camp site and full social programme and everything. It's just a week before the Shrewsbury race so a great half term holiday choice in fact!

Re: Nopesport Urban League 2011
Interesting to see if the Nopesport guys would consider allowing two events at either end of the country on the same weekend if the dates clash.
eg 11/12 June, 16/17 April.

Orienteering - its no walk in the park

That would be a very unfortunate clash with the Urban event in Shrewsbury on 5th June on a newly extended map (which I would be out surveying today if it weren't teeming with rain). Unfortunately the 5th is the only date that the event can be held on.
Enjoyed Nottingham this year - would be a pity to miss next year's.

I gave in and booked flights to Edinburgh this morning. I feel all ecologically evil, but even including transport to and from the airports flying was still less than half the price of getting the train

Thats because whoever registers your events has put TBC for all your event types, which doesn't help people plan ahead, as they don't show up on searches.

Claro race in Ripon is likely to be moved from May 22, as it coincides with the NW weekend on Bigland and Holme Fell.

Thanks for the urban list, Martin. The geographical spread is interesting:-
Anyone have any suggestions about how to even these out? Those of us in SW Britain have little choice!
- none in Northern Ireland
none in Wales
2 in the South of England
7 in the Midlands/East Anglia
15 in the North of England
4 in Scotland
