We recognise the convienence of the Troon crossing for members of Scottish clubs and hoped to strike an arrangement with P&O. However, they refused as outlined below - unless anyone has any good contacts there, it seems like a dead end for us. Happy to take advice and ideas to try and resolve this.
Unfortunately we will be unable to offer discounted rates for competitors who will take part in your orienteering event. We are able to offer only limited numbers of spaces on our sailings at a reduced price and I am sure that you will understand that we must choose the causes and events that we support very carefully for this reason. We tend to focus such support on international and national seafarers charities and causes that are local to the areas from which we operate. It is very rare for us to offer reduced crossings for competitors travelling to Ireland to take part in sporting events.
