Entries are about to close for the SOL at Birsemore Hill (Maroc regional event) on 5th September.
Best new area in Britain in 2007 and still just as good with almost no changes to the area apart from some improvement in runnability as some brashed areas have crushed down.
All usual classes available, entry at :
http://oentries.com/event/details/165-sol-5-birsemore
come along and enjoy technical orienteering at its best - and a chance to find chantrelle mushrooms, blaeberries and raspberries if the O is too much!
Hope to see many of you there.

And it was a top class event - on a first class area. Check it out on Route Gadget:

Re: Top class area and event
I really appreciated the extra half hour on the start window, thank you very much. It meant the event was more relaxed for us.
Normally, for us, parent 1 gets back, grabs a child to take round white, while parent 2 bids a hasty exit for the start. . . . .but not today, great!

Those of you with your CompassSport99 charts have no excuse for missing this event - the area was listed as the best area in Aberdeenshire, on Big Jon's authority!

Re: Top class area and event
Uploading results happens once in a blue moon from our club events, as a result no-one is quick and slick with it (in fact I don't think anyone has been registered as a "results secretary" as BOF, in its wisdom demanded, until I registered last week.
I then checked out the uploading results - 7 pages and approx 27 bullet points of instructions..... I need a particular format of the results for uploading to the BOF site. Of the laptops used for the event, one has been returned to SOA for the PWT event, and the club laptop is in the house of someone who is away on business this next week. So it looks like it will be a few more days before anything appears on the BOF site (assuming I manage to overcome my luddite computer tendencies!).
You can however look at the results on the Maroc page: http://www.marocscotland.org.uk/ which has everything except the BOF ranking points.

Rest assured that your efforts will be appreciated.
Does BOF not have an IT helpdesk (ie some geek that has worked out how to complete the process?)
By the way it was a great event and thanks to all from MAROC (and any others) who contributed.

!!!!Fanfare of trumpets!!!!
I think/hope the results for the SOL are now (correctly?) loaded onto the BOF site. Some runners seem to have no ranking points - seems to correlate to no date of birth (seems a bit harsh on the Black course since this is open to all!).

Thank you for efforts.
I've noticed a few with no points, including some that have a year of birth: Hazel Wright in Short Brown, for example.
Mystery!
