Swedish car hire
Swedish car hire has always been very expensive but this year it seems to have gone through the roof. Anyone got any recommendations for the best value (cheapest?)

Strange... used to be quite cheap if you were going to Oring or anywhere else in July... where are you flying to?

Probably Arlanda - the best 2 week price I can find is £360 for the smallest car - there will only be 2 of us (I think)

Re: Swedish car hire
Thanks Gross I've e-mailed them for a price and advice on transfer/pick up etc - we'll see what comes back.
This is actually the first time ever that me and him have been away together just the two of us for a fortnight - supposing we don't get on?

So changing the subject just very slightly...
What are the best options for car hire in Finland? (to get from Helsinki airport to Jukola, and the surrounding area)

Budget looks cheapest of the airport car hire firms at 128 economy/157 intermediate for 2 days - I assume that is euros though the website doesn't actually say.
There is free bussing to Jukola on Saturday and Sunday from Hyvinkaa station (40 mins from Helsinki) so not hiring a car could be an option.

Thanks. I guessed that might be the case, but we're arriving on Wednesday, for a bit of intensive pre-race training, to make sure we don't get (too) lost on Saturday night!

There's a company that's based just outside the airport that beats Avis, Hertz, Budget etc etc... but can't remember the name just now.... I'll check it out... but also try checking hertz via the ryanair website or air baltic sometime have good deals on car hire http://www.airbaltic.com

Re: Swedish car hire
I've just booked for Jukola etc. in Finland and found http://www.carrentals.co.uk/ to be a really good comparison website (but only found it after trawling through all the individual companies first...).
I hear that rent-a-wreck is good value, but they don't operate in Finland.
