There was a small piece in the BO magazine this month about GPS devices and their use in events.
The article was not very specific but have come to the conclusion that it was saying that any GPS with a screen that tells you where you are and altitude is banned. A GPS logger device only would be ok. This would mean you could log your run during an event for later use to analyse data and transfer your route onto route gadget.
When I look at other competitors routes on route gadget are they all using these GPS logger only devices? The events I have attended, I have noticed a number of runners using these wrist watch type (garmin) GPS devices, which from this article would suggest they are banned.
I was thinking about getting a GPS logger myself but am unsure if I would be disqualified if I was found to be using a banned one. It would be helpful if BO could provide a list of GPS devices/loggers that are permitted during a competition. This would then give a yes/no use to a particular GPS.
GPS use ??

There are 7 pages of discussion about this subject here, if you missed it.
But as I understand it they are not banned for anything other than World Ranking Events.
